On a roll

The blogs are just rolling off my fingertips this week so why not another?

Last month I decided to join up with a great group of gals that knit, knit, and knit. They could knit circles around me and have done 3 or 4 projects in the time that I finished my hobo bag/purse...but here it is. It's another great hobby for my fingertips besides typing and a step up from the standard scarf that I have done in the past. It's for sale for only $99.99

Confession

Bless me, for I have sinned!

When I was without child, I use to judge my mommy friends. I knew that when I was to become a mom, my house would be spotless. I would have so much time to do laundry, clean, make healthy meals, plan, organize, schedule fun activities, watch my favorite TV shows...really, how hard could it be to "stay at home" all day long everyday?

I have learned my lesson, please may I have some time back now? If there is anything that I learned in my formative years that prepared me more for my job as a mother, it was time management! Although in a constant learning curve, I have adapted pretty well to getting so much done in so little time. I have realized that no one has more time than the next person so it's a quality over quantity sort of dilemma. I have also realized that I would not trade motherhood for the world. When I step back from it all once in a while, I can fully appreciate the business of busyness that I miss when I am away from motherhood.

Monster Trucks - Part I

Owen can't get enough Monster Trucks. He sees pics, youtube videos, watches the commercials on TV and gets so excited. We even made a special trip to Burger King so he could get the Monster Jam truck in his kids meal. We're so lucky to live here in MS and have two truck shows to go to just this month! We attended one this past Sunday and will be going to a Monster Jam show the end of the month.

Here's some snapshots (poor guy was feeling sick as you'll notice in his gaze - so I'm glad he will have the chance to go again when he's not so under the weather).

Hopefully the next show won't be so stinky. I had to get a picture of the sign because although it said "smoke" as in the tobacco type, it was far from CO smoke free. (our lungs were looking forward to the intermission when we could get a breath of fresh outdoor air...as soon as we walked outside, it was a smoker convention!)

Tidbits from our Valentine's Day

Here's Owen modeling his new red sweater from Grammie & Papa. The red ties in nicely with the hues of scraped skin that have been present on Owen's nose for the last month! He has suffered one injury on top of the next. First incident was a run in with a PVC pipe, 2nd go was a scuff from the bleachers at the gym, and the 3rd time was a face plant on the driveway after he tripped chasing a rocket. We're hoping the streak is soon over and his little nose can get back to normal...Bacitracin has become a prominent household name.

(You'll notice in the next picture, Owen got his haircut today too).

We had the good fortune of experiencing the sweetness of a precious little girl on Valentine's Night. Emily Claire, our friends daughter, spent a few hours with us as her parents celebrated a V-day dinner out on the town. She was an angel and a breath of fresh air!

Since Justin calls me "Babycakes" and since we are with baby it seemed a perfect little treat to make for Valentine's Day this year. I got the recipe from the Dessert Challenge Winner on the Food Network. You actually use babyfood in the batter...these are "yummylicious" as Owen likes to say. Of course, Owen made sure the icing was completely devoured before he tasted the cake part.
