Swimming Lessons

The first time back in the pool since last summer...he was soooo excited...and tense. The water was a warm 83.5 degrees but he was shivering being so anxious in the water. Hopefully, the first time jitters are out of his system and he can relax a bit next week. He at the very least learned to hold on to the edge and that he really can't swim just yet!

From baby to big boy

Owen is officially potty trained!!! What a great feeling and may I add great timing with one more diaper wearer on the way! Thanks to Owen's newest passion for Monster Trucks...(Monster Jam was worth it in many ways after all)...he decided that if he wanted to be a Monster Truck driver he would have to take time out to [this is where we enter the land of make-believe] "get out of his truck and go to the potty" just like the Monster Truck Drivers do. Grammie sent a special potty package that he earned when he went poop on the potty. He now thinks that every time he goes to the potty, a new monster truck should arrive. I can't seem to shake asking him every hour if he has to potty...but it's true...he initiates it on his own and tells me! We are so proud of him.

Friends of our just gave us the baby seat and although a "big boy" Owen is mesmerized by the soothing ocean sounds that it emits.

If you know me, I shop yard sales and consignment shops!!! Our town is having a huge consignment sale going on and what better time to find out that we're having a GIRL!!!! I actually took it easy and just picked out a few things (no pink here!!!).

Snow, Wind, & Rain

When it is windy, I fly a kite.

When it snows, I build a snowman.

When it rains, I read books.

When it is sunny, I smile.

And after all the playtime, I sleep.

Monster Trucks - Part II

This was the Big League of Monster Truck Shows...MONSTER JAM! It was a step up from our last show but still not as full of speed, crushing, and crashing as many shows that you see in a large dirt arena. This show was in an indoor arena with no dirt. They still managed to fit two hours of LOUD, STINKIN', little boy loving, EXCITEMENT in to the mix. Within the first five minutes, number 199 flipped on its side. The crash made it all worth it. Our day was made complete with a stop at the toy store to pick up a few Monster Jam Hotwheel Trucks...which have provided nonstop play ever since.
